School Access : There is a Primary School present and a Secondary School is relatively close. Approximately 30% of the village is literate.
Health Care Accessibility : There is only a small pharmacy present in Effock. There are no nurses and no doctors. For medical attention, one must travel a relatively inaccessible set of roads, which takes approximately 5 hours.
Regional Challenges: Effock is very inaccessible and isolated. The village is only accessible by boat, motorbike or foot – cars cannot transverse these roads. Because of this issue, it is very difficult to find and retain teachers.
Recent Community Initiatives: The community has built a youth center.
