Health Care Accessibility : Cachouane has a small health care center and a maternity clinic, but there is no doctor present at the moment.
Regional Challenges: Cachone is quite isolated. The village is located on an island that is accessible by a boat that leaves the island one time per day. The boat ride is approximately 30 minutes. There are addition issues, such as a scarcity of fresh water, soil erosion and salinization.
Recent Community Initiatives: The community has initiated dike construction to prevent salinization. As well, a small health clinic and youth center were built recently.
